![]() St Laurence CentreThis is a large community centre attached to St Laurence Church. It comprises a large hall seating approximately 120 people, or over 200 standing, and three smaller areas seating about 50 people each. One of these is a purpose built youth centre. Regular activities include elderly peoples luncheon clubs, English language classes, young people’s events, old time dancing, badminton, St John’s ambulance and many others. There is always something going on. Over a year, most people in Catford will pass through our doors on occasion for some event or other. The centre is managed and run entirely by volunteers from the congregation as a contribution to the wider community. Naturally, use of the building is open to all members of the community, of any creed or none. All the spaces are available for hire: please phone the parish office, (020) 8698 9706, or visit the Centre on a Thursday evening at 6.30pm to be shown around. The Centre Manager is Mrs Kay Lanston; her assistant is Mrs Lorna Aiken. |
